If you sbumit a patch and notice that a control can’t reach the correct value—such as Unison Spread being unable to reach 0.5—this is a known issue and can be resolved quickly.
What This Looks Like
You may experience something like:
- A control (e.g., Unison Spread) won’t land on the correct value
- It becomes impossible to match the target sound, even when everything else is correct
Why This Happens
This issue occurs when:
- You previously had Syntorial Version 1 installed
- You upgraded to Version 2
- The lesson/challenge files did not update properly during the upgrade
As a result, the app is running old Version 1 challenge files inside Version 2. Since some parameter values changed in Version 2, certain controls (like Unison Spread) won’t behave correctly.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to refresh your lesson files:
1. Open Lesson Pack Downloader
Go to:
Options → Download Lesson Packs
2. Remove The Essentials Pack
- Locate The Essentials
- Click the trash can icon to remove it
Important:
This will not delete your progress. Your progress is محفوظ and will remain intact.
3. Re-download The Essentials
- Download The Essentials again
This ensures you get the correct Version 2 lesson files.
Result
After reinstalling:
- Controls like Unison Spread will behave correctly
- You’ll be able to reach all required values
- Patch submissions should work as expected
