If Syntorial is crashing, we can usually diagnose the issue quickly with a crash report. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Update Syntorial
Make sure you are running Syntorial version 2.3.400 or later.
If you're not on the latest version, please update first. Then try to reproduce the crash again.
If it still crashes, continue below.
Mac
- Open Finder
- Go to:
Documents → Syntorial - Locate the Crash Logs folder
- Right-click the folder and choose Compress (zip it)
Sending it to us:
- If you're already in a conversation with us, attach the zipped file to your reply
- Otherwise, contact us at the top of the page and attach the file with your message
iPad
- Open the Files app
- Navigate to:
On My iPad → Syntorial 2 → Syntorial - Locate the Crash Logs folder
- Tap and hold the folder, then choose Compress
- Tap the zipped file, then use Share
- Email it to us at support@audiblegenius.com
Windows
- Open File Explorer
- Go to:
Documents → Syntorial - Locate the Crash Logs folder
Each crash creates two files:
- A .txt file (log)
- A .dmp file (crash dump)
- Sort the folder by Date Modified
- Find the two most recent files:
- One ending in
.txt - One ending in
.dmp
- One ending in
Sending them to us:
- If you're already in a conversation with us, attach both files to your reply
- Otherwise, contact us at the top of the page and attach the files with your message
What to Include in Your Message
- A brief description of what you were doing when the crash occurred
- Your operating system and version (Mac, Windows, or iPad)
This will help us track down and fix the issue as quickly as possible.
